PURPOSE:To correct an image data in accordance with the variation of a characteristic of a photosensitive body, by monitoring the image forming element of an image forming means by a monitor means, and changing the converting information of a converting means by its monitor information. CONSTITUTION:An image data is inputted to a buffer memory 30, and outputted to a selector after a synchronization step-out and a speed conversion are executed. When a selecting signal from the CPU of a control part selects the input A of the selector 33, the image data is inputted to the address of a RAM (LUT RAM) 38 for a look-up table. The LUT RAM 38 outputs a data corresponding to the address input. The outputted data is outputted to a selector 39, outputted to a D/A converter 41 through the next selector 40 by a selecting signal 34, and converted to an analog signal. An image signal brought to an analog conversion is compared with a triangular wave 47, and the image signal brought to a PWM modulation by a comparator 43 is outputted to a laser driver 22 through an OR circuit 45, and an AND circuit 46.
