Design of an insulating panel which, in addition to its heat-insulating and cold-insulating property, in particular ensures a high degree of light transmission and, from the point of view of the practical application, makes possible problem-free installation by virtue of a profiled and compacted configuration of the panel periphery. It is characterised in that it consists of a largely light-transmissible capillary-structured core of low density with transparent cover layers on both sides and has on its circumference a profiled peripheral structure of higher density.
