The invention relates to a windwheel as advertising medium. A windwheel is sought which not only draws attention to itself when it rotates but which also can impart a certain item of information. The windwheel is distinguished in that a plurality of vane surfaces and a plurality of carrier discs are provided. The carrier discs are provided with concentric openings to allow them to be mounted on a common spindle. The vane surfaces are attached at angular spacings with respect to the concentric openings on the carrier discs and keep the latter at axial distances from one another. The front sides and/or rear sides of the vane surfaces, in each case following one another when the windwheel rotates, are provided with the same advertising print which results in the viewer seeing a still picture of this advertising print.
