The paving for traffic surfaces has a water-tight but vapour-permeable sealing layer (11) which is installed on the substructure (10). Above the sealing layer (11) is situated the water-permeable sound-absorbing covering layer (12) made of draining asphalt. The sealing layer (11) has a void content of at least 3 % by volume; it is distinguished by a shear-resistant structure. It can be installed by a finisher. <IMAGE>
