PURPOSE:To obtain an exact phosphor film pattern without deterioration in adhesion strength, by using phosphors, in which it's diameter of phosphor particles of 4mu or less are removed, to regulate phosphor slurries, and coating the inner panel surface with it. CONSTITUTION:Phosphors, whose mean particle diameter is 6mu, are separated by elutriation method to remove phosphor particles of 4mu or less in diameter. Phosphor slurries in green, blue, and red are regulated by using these phosphors. Then, with the inner panel surface turned upward and rotated, the green phosphor slurry is injected so that the whole inner surface is covered with the slurry, and the speed of rotation is increased to uniformize the film thickness. Then, with the panel inner surface turned sideways and dried, light-exposure is performed through a shadow mask and develop it to obtain a green phosphor pattern. Blue and red phosphor patterns are also obtained in this way. The resultant phosphor film will be excellent without any deterioration in adhesion strength even in case of consecutive coating.
