PURPOSE:To clarify muddy water of a paddy field at low cost in a simple apparatus by pouring muddy water of the paddy field into a smoke charcoal tank wherein charcoal of rice hull is used as a stock. CONSTITUTION:The following smoked charcoal tank 1 is provided wherein smoked charcoal 4 of rice hull is laminated and water is allowed to flow down on the top surface of the above-mentioned laminated layer. Muddy water (d) discharged from a paddy field (a) is poured from the upper part of one end side of the tank 1 and soil grains being a suspended component contained in muddy water (d) are settled on the smoked charcoal 4. In such a way, muddy water is clarified by removing fertilizer and agricultural chemicals adsorbed on the above-mentioned soil grains together with the above-mentioned grains. Clarified water is allowed to flow out from the lower part of the other end side of the smoked charcoal tank 1 via a net 5 for preventing flowage of smoked charcoal. The clarification of muddy water of the paddy field can be attained by this comparatively simple apparatus. Further a main material used in this clarification is smoked charcoal which is obtained as a by-product in a farmhouse and favorable in cost. Furthermore since soil grains which escape as muddy water from the paddy field are settled, the flowage of soil can be prevented when returning the smoked charcoal to the paddy field after settling the soil particles.
