PURPOSE:To improve the sensitivity by joining a soft magnetic block provided with grooves for winding space and a thin plate-shaped nonmagnetic member of a substrate of a main magnetic pole part to form a composite body block and forming a main magnetic pole film in the center part of this block to eliminate the spacing between the main magnetic pole film and an exciting magnetic core part. CONSTITUTION:A reinforcing material filling groove is provided on the bottom face of a soft magnetic block 30 of a magnetic head adjacently to the position where an exciting magnetic core part 36 should be filled, and a nonmagnetic reinforcing material 33 is filled in this groove and two grooves 30c for winding space orthogonal to said groove are provided on a side face 33b. A thin plate-shaped main magnetic pole substrate 31 is joined to this block 30 to form a composite body block 32. A main magnetic pole film 34 is formed vertically between two grooves 30c on the side face of the block 32, and this block 32 and a block whose structure is symmetrical to the block 32 are joined by adhesion so that side faces 30b face each other, thereby forming a composite body junction block 35. The main magnetic pole film 34 is formed in the center part of the block 35 to make the spacing unnecessary, and the sensitivity of the head is improved. |
