PURPOSE:To print and output the successive operation of a picture as a successive still picture by sampling the successive picture by a video signal recorded on a video tape or a video disk, converting into a printing output signal and sequentially outputting. CONSTITUTION:A video reproducing device 1 reproduces picture data and outputs the video signal in the still picture mode. A sampling circuit 3 is constituted of a separating circuit having the separating functions such as a color separation, the separation of vertical and horizontal synchronization, the video signal separation of respective colors and an A/D converting function, a sampling state is monitored by a CPU6 and the quantity of data is controlled by the operation of a clock 7 and a counter 8. The data sampled in the sampling circuit 3 is stored in a frame memory 5, when the storage of one picture is completed, a signal is fed to the CPU6 from the counter 8 to stop the sampling, and the data is controlled by the CPU6, and printed and outputted by a printer 10.
