PURPOSE:To use a liquid crystal display panel to be a non-emitting body on a dark position by arraying light emitting diodes under a transmission type dot matrix liquid crystal panel in grating mode and turning on the light emitting diodes sequentially one by one at a specific period with time division. CONSTITUTION:Square light emitting diodes 2 having integer times the size of a liquid crystal dot are tightly arrayed by e.g. N lines X M rows under the transmission type dot matrix liquid crystal display panel. The arrayed light emitting diodes 2 are connected like a grating by a circuit, a clock generated from a clock generator 4 is divided at its frequency by a frequency divider 5, the clocks outputted from the frequency divider 5 is counted up by an N-digit counter 6, the signal from the N-digit counter is received by a line selector circuit 7 to select the wiring of the line direction of the grating-like circuit consisting of the light emitting diodes D(0, 0)-D(N-1, M-1). An M-digit counter 8 selects the wiring of the column direction of the grating-like circuit. Consequently, the diodes are sequentially turned on with time division synchronously with the liquid crystal display of liquid crystal display panel. |
