发明名称 THERMAL TRANSFER-RECORDING METHOD
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable transfer recording of monochromatic image or full-color image having continuous multi-gradation, by using a recording medium provided with a coating layer having one or more projected portions(s) per unit recording pixel in thermal transfer recording on the irregular surface thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a recording medium 40, an uneven-surfaced coating layer 42 having one or more projected portion(s) 45, make of a binder material 22 and a compatible coating material 43 containing a material which has compatibility in a heating recording control temperature and further in a room temperature, per unit recording pixel area on the irregular surface thereof, is formed on a surface 41a of a base sheet 41. With increases in the heating recording control energy to be applied to a thermal transfer layer 2, the temperature of a melting transfer layer material 23 increases. Therefore, when the viscosity of the material 23 is lowered, the material 23 penetrates into recessed portions 46 through the side faces 42b of the projected portions with keeping compatibility with the material 43 until forming penetrations 23b reaching bottom portions 42c of the recessed portions. At this time, by separation of the medium 40 from a sheet 3, a transfer recording can be obtained with a visually high density which can be increase with increase of the heating recording control energy, thus a thermal transfer recording of continuous gradation can be realized.
