A negative silver halide photographic light-sensitive material comprising a support having provided thereon at least one silver halide emulsion layer is disclosed. At least one of the silver halide emulsion layers or another hydrophilic colloidal layer of the material contains a hydrazine derivative and a compound represented by the formula: R1-S-S-R2 wherein R1 and R2, which may be the same or different, each represents an aliphatic group, an aromatic group or a heterocyclic group, or when R1 and R2 are both aliphatic groups they may together form a ring. The material can rapidly form a superhigh contrast image using a stable processing solution.
