PURPOSE:To eliminate several disadvantages due to foam generation by incorporating a compd. having a specified mean mol.wt. at an optional stage in the prepn. of a silver halide photographic sensitive material. CONSTITUTION:A compd. expressed by the formula, and having 2,000-3,500 mean mol.wt. is incorporated at an optional stage in a process for forming a silver halide photographic sensitive material. The anti-foaming agent is synthesized easily by allowing a higher alcohol to react with polyoxyethylene/ polyoxypropylene copolymer. The antifoaming agent is used by dissolving in a lower alcohol, and 0.001-1wt% (basing on the weight of the agent) of the soln. is added to the liquid to be defoamed. The agent has particularly superior anti-foaming effect. It is most suitable to be used in the stage of mixing silver halide emulsion. |
