PURPOSE:To verify a tension meter without removing a load cell by setting a hydraulic cylinder and a verification load cell on a detachably mounted support frame and comparing output values of the verification load cell and output values of the load cell set on a tension roll. CONSTITUTION:Tension values of a steel sheet 1 being on a passage through a cold rolling mill is detected by a tension meter consisting of a tension roll 2 and load cells 3. A support frame 4 is detachably mounted on the housing of a stand of the cold rolling mill and the central part of the frame 4 is provided with a hydraulic cylinder 5 and a verification load cell 6. The cylinder 5 is actuated to bring an attachment 7 contact with the tension roll 2 and to give a concentrated load, so that a tension value is properly added to the two load cells 3 installed under the roll 2. In that method, the output value of the verification load cell 6 is compared with that of the load cells 3 of the tension meter to perform the verification. |
