A dewatering press for textile products has an upright, tubular pressure container 1 which has an upper loading opening 2, a circumferential wall 4 and a lower unloading opening 3 in which a tubular membrane 14 is arranged, which extends between the loading opening 2 and the unloading opening 3. The loading opening 2 can be closed by a raisable and lowerable lid 5 while, below the unloading opening 3, a perforated transport belt 11 and a terminating plate 12 with water discharge channels 13 are provided. The tubular membrane 14 can be placed by negative pressure against the circumferential wall 4 of the pressure container and, after introduction of the textile product and lowering of the lid 5, can be pressed inwards by compressed water in order to wring out the textile product. The diameter of the loading opening 2 is smaller than the diameter of the circumferential wall 4 in order to keep the pressurised area of the lid as small as possible and thus to minimise the forces which act on the lid 5 and have to be absorbed by the latter, by the pressure cylinder 6 and by the frame 7. <IMAGE>
