Packaging material comprises one or more sheets (1) of paperboard, for example corrugated paperboard or a similar paperboard configuration having flexural-strength enhancing elements, such as fluted corrugations, which sheet or sheets is, or are, intended to be folded so as to embrace, either fully or partially, one or more articles (1') to be packaged, the packaging material comprising an outermost sheet part having a free end (9') which is intended to be fastened to further sheet part (9'''), an attachment part, for sealing the package. The free end (9') is provided on the inner surface (9'') thereof with a first adhesive layer (13) which is intended to be brought into contact with a corresponding second adhesive layer (14) on the attachment part (9'''). The adhesive layer (13, 14) is of a kind such that the layers will adhere to one another but not to the sheet material. The sheet (1) is advantageously divided into two parts (8, 9) by means of slots, the two sheet parts being held together by a tongue (10) with fold lines (11, 12). By binding the tongue along the fold lines, the sheet parts (8, 9) can be moved from a storage position, in which they lie mutually adjacent one another, to a perpendicular, crossing position of use, one upon the other. |
