The object is to insert a current-direction-dependent element into the return conductor (1) of an interference current dissipation apparatus, which element is simpler than a polarised switch, acts continuously and is more effective and has higher performance than a rectifier cell. The solution essentially comprises using a power diode (2) as the current-direction-dependent element and connecting a controller (3) across the power diode, which controller (3) is constructed as an auxiliary DC voltage source which regulates galvanostatically or potentiostatically, it thus also being possible to dissipate from the installation (R) which is endangered by interference currents even interference currents whose voltage is less than the threshold voltage of the power diode. <IMAGE>
