<p>A catalyst component for an alpha-olefin alpha polymerization catalyst (comprising an organoaluminium compound, an external electron donor and a solid catalyst component obtained by reaction of a solid magnesium-containing carrier component with a titanium halogen compound) is prepared by the steps of: (a) dissolving, or suspending, a magnesium compound soluble in ethanol or water; (b) adding to the solution a substantially stoichiometric quantity of hydrochloric acid; (c) drying the ethanolic solution of the magnesium component by periodic azeotropic distillation; (d) precipitating a solid carrier component from the ethanol solution; and (e) reacting the solid carrier components with a titanium halogen compound in the presence of an internal electron donor or without an electron donor. p</p> |
