PURPOSE:To increase absolute strength and to improve the reliability and electric characteristics of a connection part by adhering a flexible wiring board fixedly to a transparent electrode for external connection and also connecting them electrically, and swelling an anisotropic conductive adhesive only at the inner peripheral edge and outer peripheral edge part of the transparent electrode for external connection. CONSTITUTION:Flaw parts are present at end parts of one glass plate 1b between 1a and 1b constituting a liquid crystal display element which are viewed in directions A-D, and transparent electrode for external connection is formed on the surfaces of the flaw parts and exposed to the flaw parts. The flexible wiring board 4 is adhered with the anisotropic adhesive 3 formed by dispersing conductive powder in a hot-melt type adhesive while swelling at the inner peripheral edge 3a and inner peripheral edge part 3b of the transparent electrode 2 on the surface of a lower glass plate 1b. Consequently, even if tensile stress operates on the flexible wiring board 4 along the main surface, the adhesive layers are thick at the inner peripheral edge part 3a and outer peripheral edge part 3b, so the device withstands a large load because of 'pool'. |
