PURPOSE:To lower the cost of running by a system wherein the state of the movement of a label is detected and hammers different in dot patterns are operated in accordance with the movement to form characters as if a printer were moved. CONSTITUTION:Labels 2 are stuck on ground paper 1 and rolled up in a roll 5. When an article 6 to be labeled passes under one of the labels 2, a driving motor 11 for the labels is driven in accordance with the speed of movement of the article, based on a detection signal of a detector 7, and is stopped by a detector 8 detecting the movement of one label. This state of movement is detected by an encoder, and a signal thereof is delivered to a controller. The controller conducts an arithmetic operation on signals of a set character pattern and the speed of movement of the label and instructs each dot hammer to conduct operation or no operation for stamping. The label is moved and further another dot hammer instructed conducts stamping to form a character, a sentence, a date, etc. Accordingly, the object can be attained by using ordinary paper for labels without using such expensive paper as heat-sensitive paper. |
