PURPOSE:To simplify the constitution and to attain high speed by providing an analog switch and a hold capacitor receiving its output and extracting an output signal comparators of analog conversion sections equal to number of conversion bits as a converted digital signal. CONSTITUTION:When an analog input signal (a) is inputted to an analog switch 5, since a hold voltage inputted to an A/D conversion section 101 is higher than a constant voltage level E, an a output signal (f) of a comparator 11 goes to '1'. The comparison output is the most significant bit(MBS)of the converted digital signal. Further, an analog switch 14 receiving the comparison output '1' passes an input (1), resulting that its output (e)goes to the constant voltage level E. An output (d) of an operational amplifier 15 is supplied to a comaprator 11' and a noninverting amplifier 12' of an A/D converter 102 of the next stage. The 2nd digital signal is outputted from a latch circuit 20 similarly as above. The digital conversion to an optional bit number (n) is applied in such a way and (n)-set of A/D conversion section are provided accordingly.
