PRODUCTION OF ZIRCONIA MEMBRANE

PURPOSE:To simply obtain a uniform transparent zirconia membrane having a desired area, by spraying a spray solution prepared by containing specific butoxyzirconium acetylacetate in an org. solvent onto a base material preheated to a specific temp. range. CONSTITUTION:Butoxyzirconium acetylacetate represented by general formula I (wherein X is 1<=X<=3) is dissolved in an org. solvent such as ethanol to prepare a spray solution. In this case, the amount of butoxyzirconium acetylacetate is adjusted so as to be about 2-10wt% in the org. solvent as zirconia ZrO2. The spray solution obtained is sprayed to a plate-shaped base material such as glass or ceramics preheated to 400-800 deg.C to thermally decompose butoxyzirconium acetylacetate to form a uniform transparent membrane.
