PURPOSE:To provide a composition for administration to cuticle having improved transcutaneous absorbability and containing a proline ester or its salt. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition for administration to cuticle contains a proline ester of formula I (Ra is H or aliphatic hydrocarbon group; Rb is aliphatic hydrocarbon group; the sum of carbon numbers of Ra and Rb is <=20). The composition may be further compounded with one or more polar compounds selected from lower alcohol, glycerol, cyclic urea of formula II (R1 and R2 are H or lower alkyl), amide compound of formula III (R3-R5 are H or lower alkyl), pyrrolidone compound of formula IV (R6 is H or lower alkyl) and lactam compound of formula V (R7 is lower alkyl; n is 4-5). The amount of the compound of formula I is preferably 0.5-70wt% based on the sum of the compound of formula I and the polar compound. The dermatic permeability and transcutaneous absorbability of a drug can be synergistically improved.
