PURPOSE:To recognize an object even when plural recognizing objects are overlapped by searching a primitive matching to a primitive on an unknown object from a dictionary, corresponding the primitive with the top between the dictionary and the unknown object and estimating the primitive and a top which are hidden on the unknown object. CONSTITUTION:A dictionary searching part 5 examines whether there is the primitive matching or not in the dictionary in the sequence from the longest primitive among the primitives of the unknown object. The set of the primitive in the obtained unknown object and the primitive in the dictionary is sent to a matching part (corresponding table forming part) 6 as a matching set. Then, a hidden part is estimated by a hidden part estimation part 7. An unknown object renewal part part 8 removes the primitive and the top which have the coordinate with the dictionary from the unknown object, estimates what should be replenished to a remaining idle part, and corrects the angle of the top, the primitive length and a connection relation or the like.
