PURPOSE:To obtain a color image recorder capable of being reduced in size and recording at high speed without generating color misregister, by joining recording paper supplying passages of first and second recording paper supplying means on the inlet side of a recording means, and setting a recording-starting timing for a thermal recording head on the basis of a confirmation signal from a detector for confirming the leading end of a recording paper. CONSTITUTION:A recording paper supplying passage 43 is joined to a recording paper supplying passage 37 of a first recording paper supplying means 70, and a part thereof is used also as a passage for feeding a recording paper from a recording paper containing means 60 to a recording means 10. An optical detector 44 for the recording paper is provided at the joint part of the passage 43. An ink ribbon 91 and the paper are simultaneously fed, the leading end of the paper is detected by the detector 44, a detection signal therefrom is sent to a system controlling part, and time counting by a timer means is started. Dot recording for images in yellow is first conducted, and while performing sequential recording, the paper and the ink ribbon 91 are fed by a platen roller 11 at scanning pitches so that they are maintained in close contact with each other and do not slip relative to each other. Accordingly, high-quality images free of color misregister can be recorded. |
