SOIL-COVERING WORK FOR SUPERSOFT GROUND

PURPOSE:To equalize the thickness of a banking layer by setting a water- chargeable latticed float below the banking. CONSTITUTION:A latticed float is assembled on site by using pipe joints (a)-(h) and pipes 1. The lattice float is allowed to communicate with outside by connecting inside in every given area vertical pipes 4 on one pile joint. A sheet 5 is laid on the float and baking 8 is applied to the upside of the sheet 5. Water is then charged into the float through the pipes 4 to remove the buoyancy. The local expansion of the ground during surcharging period can thus be avoided, the thickness of the banking layer can be equalized, and the control of the buoyancy of the float can be made easier. The height of the banking layer 8 can easily be regulated.
