PURPOSE:The titled compound useful as a remedy for malignant tumors, having cell damaging properties on various malignant tumors with a small amount and high safety, by multiplying a cell capable of producing human tumor necrosis factor, purifying and collecting the product. CONSTITUTION:A mononuclear cell which is treated with SV-40 virus, cultivated and established as a human derived cell capable of producing human tumor necrosis (hTNF) is transplanted into skin of a hamster, etc., the hamster is bred to multiply the cell. A tumor necrosis factor inducer (e.g. BCG, etc.) is applied to the hamster and breeding is further continued. A tumor formed in the skin, the multiplied cell is collected and a product is recovered to give purified hTNF having at least 350,000 unit/mg protein specific activity. |
