The morpholine derivs. of formula (I), in which R1 and R2 are H, or 1-4C alkyl and their acceptable salts, for use as anti-hypoxic and anti-amnesic agents are made by (a) reacting a cpd. of formula (II) with R2NHCH2CH2Y, in which Y is halogen, in water in presence of Ba(OH)z at b.pt.; and (b) cyclising the prod. of formula (IV) at high temp. in presence of Ba(OH)2.
