PURPOSE:To improve the cost performance and to simplify the constitution of a reception data circuit by adding position information representing its storage position to unit information of a reception data so as to store the result to a reception data buffer circuit. CONSTITUTION:The reception data buffer circuit 2 is constituted shown in figure. Position information 1b is added to unit information of each packet data respectively. The reception data circuit 1 extracts a packet data indicated by a flag from a packet on a communication line. When a data next to a flag is not a flag, it is packet unit information 1a, one-byte unit information 1a is stored in address X''0000' of the circuit 2 and a 2-bit position information 1b is stored. '10' is stored as the information 1b when it is the 1st unit information and '11' is stored when the next reception data is an intermediate data. Thus, a data processing circuit 3 uses the information 1b to recognize the relative location of the unit information of the reception data. Thus, it is not required to generate a table to store the reception data in the reception data circuit 1.
