PURPOSE:To make it possible to prevent the generation of a color mixture and the deterioration in brightness from a decrease of phosphor membrane thickness, by spraying an ionized gas to a panel and reducing the static electricity over the panel. CONSTITUTION:An ionized air is sprayed to the inside of a panel by using an ionized air spray unit to remove the static electricity of the panel. Then a resist is spread at the inner surface of the panel and dried to form a sensitive membrane. After that, through a shadow mask, the portions green phosphor layers are to be formed, for example, are exposed to produce lead chloride to form an adhesive surface. Then, the green phosphor powder is poured to the inner surface of the panel to be attached to the adhesive face. After that, an ionized air is sprayed inside the panel to remove the phosphor powder attached at the portions other than the adhesive face. The same processes except the exposure are repeated for the blue phosphor powder and the red phosphor powder, to from the green, blue, and red phosphor powder layers, and then, the inside of the panel is fixed. Therefore, the phosphor powder attached to the portions other than the adhesive surface of the fluorescent screen of a picture tube can be removed easily, and the color mixture and the deterioration of brightness owing to a decrease of the phosphor membrane thickness can be prevented.
