In a silica-containing polyorganosiloxane composition of the present invention, because the ultrafine silica powder or its mixture with polyorganosiloxane has an acid strength, as measured by it's pKa value in nonpolar solvent, falling within a specific range of from greater than or equal to 4.0 and less than or equal to 9.2; the excellent effect accrues that the chemical composition of the polyorganosiloxane component will remain the same during production or during long-term storage.
