PURPOSE:To adjust a converter tap hole to a horizontal position and to improve mounting workability by mounting pin bodies and brackets to the flange face of the tap hole, fitting the pin bodies to cylindrical bodies on a mounting table and adjusting the position of the brackets by means of jack bolts. CONSTITUTION:The pin bodies 25, 26 projected to the bottom surface of the flange 1a of the tap hole 1 are fitted to the cylindrical bodies 28, 29 erected on the imposing table 17. The pin hole 30 of the cylindrical body 28 has complete roundness and the pin hole 31 of the cylindrical body 29 is made elliptical so that the pin bodies 25, 26 are smoothly fitted therein. The brackets 27, 39 mounted to the tap hole 1 are mounted on the jack bolts 38, 40 provided to the mounting table 17. The vertical positions of the pin bodies 25, 26 are adjusted by the jack bolts 32, 33 and at the same time the supporting height of the bracket 27 is adjusted by the jack bolt 38. The flange face 1a of the tap hole is thereby made horizontal to the basic position necessary for alignment.
