PURPOSE:To enhance catalytic activity at room temp., by forming a catalyst for synthesizing 2-(1'-cyclohexanol)cyclohexanone from a fine particulate substance insoluble in cyclohexanone and having a surface showing basicity. CONSTITUTION:Cyclohexanone is contacted with a fine particulate substance (catalyst) insoluble in cyclohexanone and having a surface showing basicity to synthesize 2-(1'-cyclohexanol)cyclohexanone. As the aforementioned fine particulate substance, an inorg. substance is pref. and, especially, oxide and a metal powder are optimum and, as oxide, TiO2, alpha-Fe2O3 and Al2O3 etc., are designated and, as the metal, Fe, Cu, Cr, etc. are designated and the average particle size thereof is pref. 100mum or less. The sufficient use amount of the aforementioned catalyst is about 10-200pts.wt. of 100pts.wt. of cyclohexanone as a basic substance. |
