PURPOSE:To prevent a recycle time required for charging a main capacitor from becoming long and to supply sufficient electric power to an auxiliary lighting device for an automatic focus detecting device by providing the auxiliary lighting device and a means which inhibits the device from performing lighting operation. CONSTITUTION:A camera C has the automatic focus detecting means and when a subject is dark and the automatic focus detecting device can not perform focus detecting operation, a projection pattern is projected on the subject from the auxiliary lighting driving circuit B of a mounted electronic flash device. The inhibiting means corresponds to a timer 4 and inhibits the auxiliary lighting device for the automatic focus detecting device from operating until the main capacitor 9 is charged completely. Consequently, the recycle time for 5he charging time of the main capacitor 9 never becomes long. further, the auxiliary lighting device is turned on after the charging of the main capacitor 9, i.e. after the load on the charging is reduced, so sufficient electric power the load on the charging is reduced, so sufficient electric power is supplied to the auxiliary lighting device. |
