PURPOSE:To obtain color recorded images according to color information by controlling the movement speed of an ink sheet relatively to a heating position of a heating means and separating the ink sheet from a material to be recorded based on information relative to recording. CONSTITUTION:For instance, if an auxiliary color is red in the bicolor ribbon mode, a carriage is accelerated at a speed set for auxiliary color and then is assisted to travel (e.g., 18 characters/sec). After this, a thermal head is heated at a voltage, current and heat time (e.g, 1.1msec) set for auxiliary color to perform printing. If a basic color is black, the carriage is accelerated at a speed set for basic color and then is assisted to travel (e.g., 10 characters/sec). Further, heat parameters for basic color are set, heating the thermal head and printing characters (e.g., 0.8msec heating). At this stage, the carriage is lowered to a head up commencement position and allowed to move by a distance l so that the stripping position of a ribbon may be changed. |
