摘要 PURPOSE:To obtain measurement with high accuracy in a short period by measuring a transmit ted radiation quantity at a measurement time to satisfy the conditions at which the counted value N2 of the section where the intensity of the transmitted radiation increases and the counted value N1 of the section where said intensity decreases attain N1<N2, N2 = constant. CONSTITUTION:The white X-ray from a radiation source 1 is irradiated through a collimator 2 onto a material 3 to be measured. The transmitted radiation is passed through a collimator 4, is diffracted by spectral crystals 5a, 5b, and is spectrally separated to monochromatic X-rays of low energy EL and high energy EH. these X-rays are made incident on detectors 6a, 6b. The outputs from the detectors 6a, 6b are amplified by amplifiers 7a, 7b, 8a, 8b and are measured for the prescribed time only by counters 9a, 9b, and a clock counter 10. The intensity of the transmitted radiation is low in the central part Z1 of the measuring region Z>=Z and is large in both side parts Z2, Z3. The measurement time is spent until the conditions N1<N2, N2 = constant are satisfied where the count value of the central part Z1 is designated as N1 and the count values of both side parts Z2, Z3 as N2. The counters 9a, 9b, 10 are kept operated during this time. the material 3 to be measured is analyzed by an analyzer 11 is accordance with the count values an measurement time obtd. in the above-mentioned manner.
