PURPOSE:To enable a date to be switched at a single stroke, to enable a date stamp to be capped and to enable the date stamp to be carried, by providing an arm-operating member in an engageable form, and rotating an adjusting dial by a one-toooth amount by each push at a knock-button. CONSTITUTION:A stamp frame 52 is drawn out by pushing a slide knob 11, and a slide shaft 67 is rotated to set it to a date-adjusting state. Then, with a connecting projection 67B pressed, the slide shaft 67 is slidden in an adjusting threaded shaft 23 against a coil spring 80, and the tip of a knock quantity adjusting ring 78 comes into contact with the terminal end of the treaded shaft 23, whereby sliding is inhibited. This causes a pushing projection 69 of a positioning base 68 to push a back part of a date shift lever 57, so that the lever 57 is turned, and a feed pawl 59A of a ratchet arm 59 pushes a tooth 34A of a ratchet wheel 34 opposed thereto. As a result, a belt wheel 32 for the unit's place of day is rotated by one pitch, and a belt 44 for the unit's place of day is moved by a one-character amount, whereby a type supported on a belt support surface 40A and located at a stamp face is switched over.
