PURPOSE:To provide an adhesive function and step elimination function to a gap part by using a metallic (including semimetallic) alkoxide as a gap material. CONSTITUTION:A substrate is cut from a gap forming face 6 and after a coil forming groove 7 is formed thereto, the gap forming face 6 is polished and a soln. 3 prepd. by dissolving an organosilanol as the metallic alkoxide in a solvent is coated on the gap forming face 6. The organosilanol is expressed by the molecular formula Si(OH)m(Rb)4-m, where m is 1-4 integer and R, b are an alkyl group. The gap forming face 6 on which the soln. 3 dissolved with such organosilanol is coated is used as a joint surface and the previously cut two substrates 1, 1' are adhered and pressurized. The adhered substrates are subjected to a heat treatment for 3hr at 200 deg.C. As a result, the organosilanol is thermally decomposed to form an amorphous polymer 8. A sliding surface 9 with a magnetic head is thereafter polished and a coil 4 is wound thereon, by which the magnetic head is completed.
