PURPOSE:To improve electrical characteristics by incorporating nonmagnetic powder deposited with an org. compd. of a specific mol.wt. contg. -CH= CHCOOH and benzene ring in one molecule on the particle surface into a magnetic layer. CONSTITUTION:The org. compd. of 130-238mol.wt. having -CH=CHCOOH and benzene ring in one molecule is deposited on the nonmagnetic powder, by which the dispersibility of the nonmagnetic powder is improved, the surface smoothness of the magnetic layer is improved and the electrical characteristics are thoroughly improved. For example, cinnamic acid and cinnamic acid deriv. are adequately used for the org. compd. of 130-238mol.wt. having -CH= CHCOOH and benzene ring in one molecule. Such org. compd. has conjugated double bond in the molecule, has the relatively small mol.wt., deposits satisfactorily on the surface of the nonmagnetic powder and has good affinity to a binder resin. The dispersibility of the nonmagnetic powder in the binder resin is thus thoroughly improved.
