PURPOSE:To make it possible to form a grindstone for grinding a tooth part of a rotor of a screw compressor with high accuracy when forming the grindstone by moving at least one of divided crush rolls in its axial direction. CONSTITUTION:When forming a grindstone, the grindstone 1 is rotated at any required rpm by means of a main spindle 2, crush rolls 3 and 4 are made to contact and pressed against the grindstone 1 by means of rotation of a radial direction feed screw 8, and at the same time a movable crush roll feed screw 6 is rotated to move both a crush roll main spindle 5 and the movable crush roll 4 so that the movable crush roll 4 is pressed against the rotary shaft direction of the grindstone 1. This enables the movable crush rolls 3 and 4 produce optimum pressure angle to the grindstone 1 to perform crush forming. Thus, it is possible to form the grindstone for grinding a tooth part of a rotor of a screw compressor at high speed as well as with high accuracy.
