PURPOSE:To enable the prevention of a rotary shaft having such abnormality as an off-spec. size or the like from being pushed into a housing by arranging, between a receiving stock and a pushing-pressing unit, a master ring having a through hole which is equivalent to the size of the outside diameter of the rotary shaft. CONSTITUTION:A rotary shaft 2 is held between a headstock 6 and a tailstock 7, and while being made to rotate, is moved from the tailstock 7 side to the headstock 6 side together with these headstock 6 and tailstock 7. The outside diameter part of the rotary shaft 2 is first passed through a master ring 11 and then inserted into the shaft-hole of a housing 3. If the outside diameter part of the rotary shaft 2 has a dent or an off-spec. diameter, the insertion resistance of the rotary shaft 2 toward the master ring 11 grows stronger and a torque-limiting device is actuated so as to stop the movement of the headstock 6, the tailstock 7 and the rotary shaft 2.
