PURPOSE:To prevent generation of electric discharge in a tube by making a curvature at least one the edge of an anode side of each of openings formed in the center of magnetic poles. CONSTITUTION:An upper and a lower end shields 5, 6 for fixing both ends of a filament 4 constituting a cathode are fixed at tip ends of two lead support 21, 22 fixed to a stem 2 of a cathode input part. An upper and a lower magnetic poles 7, 8 are fixed to both ends of an anode cylinder 3 having a vane 1 radially disposed at the inside, while an upper and a lower end shields 5, 6 are closely disposed in a face-to-face relation at openings 9 of the center of the magnetic poles 7, 8. The edges of the openings 9 are curved and extended outward from the inner part of the anode cylinder 3 so as to form curvatures 11, thereby preventing formation of a protrusion or unevenness on the end of each of openings 9. Thus, it is possible to prevent generation of dark current and electric discharge in a magnetron in applying high voltage thereto.
