PURPOSE:To save fuel and stabilize product quality, by providing plural temp. detectors brought into contact with one or more among materials to be treated and controlling burning and cooling quantities while using min. and max. detected temps. as objective temps. at heating and cooling respectively. CONSTITUTION:Plural materials W to be treated are arranged in a furnace main body 20 of box type according to a prescribed organization pattern. At least one among plural temp. detectors T (T1, T2, T3) is arranged in contact with surface to be measured of the material W. Next, the material W is heated, then cooled. Min. and max. detected temps. are selected as objective controlling temp. at heating and cooling respectively by a circuit 5 for selecting detected temp. Burning and cooling quantities are controlled so that optimum annealing pattern computed based on various conditions is attained.
