PURPOSE:To enhance dimensional accuracy between elements and facilitate assembly, by providing a turnable member supported by an ink ribbon support member, driven by a driving motor and connected to a carriage and an ink ribbon take-up member. CONSTITUTION:In a printing operation, a driving motor 7 is rotated clockwise. Concurrently, a turnable member 10 is rotated counterclockwise, and a pushing piece 10c thereof advances teeth 14a of a gear 14 by a one-tooth amount, whereby an ink ribbon is taken up. At this time, the turnable member 10 is rotated in the direction of an arrow B, so that a pin 19 is passed through an inside part 10d of the member 10, and since the distance between the pin 19 and the center of the member 10 is unvaried, an ink ribbon support member 4 is not oscillated. At the time of correction, the motor 7 is rotated counterclockwise, and the member 10 is rotated in the direction of an arrow A. Therefore, the distance between the pin 19 and the center of the member 10 is increased, and the ink ribbon support member 4 is turned. When the turning is finished, the pushing piece 12 advances a gear part 17a of a correction ribbon support member 17 by a one-tooth amount, whereby a correction ribbon 22 is taken up. When the member 10 is further rotated, the pin 19 is stopped at an end part 10g, and the rotation of the member 10 is stopped.
