PURPOSE:To prevent ozone or the like from being stagnated by providing the titled device with a control means for contacting/separating a light emitting means with/from a photosensitive drum in accordance with an image forming process on the drum. CONSTITUTION:Paper feeding parts 20, 22 having respective paper feeding rollers 21, 23 are arranged on the left side of a copying machine body, a pair of rollers 24, 25, a pair of timing rollers 26, a carrying belt 27, a fixing device 28, and a discharge roller 29 are arranged on a copying paper carrier and an LED array 800 to be used for both the side erasing and an inter-image erasing of the photosensitive drum 1 is obtained by arranging plural LEDs along the axial direction of the drum 1 at the periphery of the drum 1 over the whole cylinder length of the drum 1 and holding them so as to contact/separate them with/from the surface of the drum 1. Consequently, the LED array 800 for removing electrostatic charge on the drum 1 by projecting light to the drum 1 can be allowed to contact with and separated from the drum in accordance with an image forming process on the drum 1. |
