PURPOSE:To prevent a car speed from dropping in accordance with rapid deceleration, by providing a means, which detects a changing degree of the car speed on the basis of the actually running car speed, and controlling the car speed so that said changing degree obtains a fixed value. CONSTITUTION:If a set switch 1 is turned on in order to change a preset value to a car speed lower than that of the preset value, deceleration is calculated on the basis of a car speed signal from a car speed sensor 5. And a deceleration control pulse of width in accordance with a difference of said deceleration is generated so that it obtains a value always equal to a predetermined value by a setter part 8. Thereafter, a deceleration control in a fixed degree of deceleration is performed by a throttle driving mechanism 13 changing a throttle opening. In this way, dropping of the car speed, after the set switch 1 is turned off, can be eliminated by controlling the deceleration so as to be in a fixed value when the preset car speed is changed to the lower preset value.
