A slide gauge which consists of flat guide part (1) with a stop (7, 8) and of a flat slide (9), which can be locked on the guide part (1) with a counterstop (11, 12) is to be constructed such that it can be used for many different tasks as a measuring and marking-out (scribing) tool. It is provided for this purpose that the stop (7, 8) and the counterstop (11, 12) respectively project beyond one of the main surfaces of the guide part (1) and the slide (9), and that the slide (9) can be optionally set respectively in each of its four reversing positions on the guide part (1). <IMAGE>
