A description is given of a twin-head magnetic transducer arrangement for a helical-scan tape recorder, having a non-magnetic basic head part (14) and first and second magnetic heads (31,32) which are arranged at a distance from each other one behind the other in the transporting direction of a magnetic tape. The first magnetic head comprises first and second core halves (31a, 31b), which are coupled to each other to form a magnetic gap (33), and the second magnetic head comprises third and fourth core halves (32a, 32b), which are likewise coupled to each other to form a magnetic gap (34). The first and the third core halves are arranged opposite each other at the interspace (35) between the magnetic heads, and the length (l3) of the tape-contact surface of the third core half in the direction of rotation (X) of the twin-head transducer arrangement (30) is essentially equal to twice the length (l1) of the tape-contact surface of the first core half. <IMAGE>
