PURPOSE:To perform profiling detection which decreases disturbance by noise and can surely with a slight change with high accuracy by using the impedance of a welding arc as an input signal for controlling the position of a welding torch. CONSTITUTION:The impedance Za of the arc obtd. by dividing an arc voltage by welding current is used as an input signal for automatic control of the distance between a welding torch 2 and materials 1 to be welded and automatic follow-up control of the weld line in the stage of said control. An arithmetic circuit 4 for the impedance is constituted of variable resistors VR-1, VR-2, arithmetic amplifiers OP-1, OP-2 and a divider D. A voltage input signal E and current input signal I are respectively inputted to input terminals tiE, tiI and the impedance Za is operated. If the impedance signal 5 obtd. in such a way is used as the input signal for controlling the position of the torch, the operation of the control circuit is stabilized. |
