PREPARATION:The reaction between an allene of formula III such as a compound of formula IV and trialkylsilyl cyanide of formula V is carried out in a nonpolar solvent such as toluene in the presence of a palladium catalyst, preferably palladium complex of such PdBr2 and/or nickel catalyst, preferably a nickel complex such as NiCl2/di-iso-butylaluminum hydride, preferably in an inert atmosphere such as N2 gas at 60-160 deg.C for 2-20hr.
