PURPOSE:To obtain an economical and recoverable ink support for thermal transfer printer by forming the support in disc shape and constituting it in such a way that it may rotate sliding in contact with a thermal head with a rotational means. CONSTITUTION:An ink support 1 is formed in discharge and is enabled to rotate, sliding in contact with a thermal head 5 with a rotational means 16. If a carrier 7 starts printing with the thermal head 5 for printing operation, while shutting back and forth as shown by arrow marks A-B, a motor 16 rotates in an arrow E direction, causing the support 1 in the same direction. This rotation causes the support 1 to be filled with an ink 3 by a filling means 8, and the thermal head 5 locally heats a prearranged character or a figure, allowing the ink 3 to be jetted out. Thus recording paper 15 is printed through transfer. The support 1 continues to rotate even after the transfer and the residual ink is removed by a cleaning means 9, following which ink 3 is refilled by the filling means 8. |
